Right after getting her IV put in
Still traumatized from that IV
On Tuesday November 29 my baby woke up throwing up all over the place. It progressively got worse during the day to the point that we were running to the bathroom every 30 min so she could puke. She couldn't keep ANYTHING down. And then she started running a fever. That darn fever just kept creeping up and up. At about 5:30 pm it hit the 102 mark. I called her Dr because nothing was working to break it or even bring it down. They said to get her to the ER. So I told daddy that we had to go and off we went. We got there at 6:05 pm it was packed. We had to wait in the waiting room until almost 9 pm. Not much fun with a little girl who didn't feel so hot and was throwing up. And then mommy started throwing up, I'm pretty sure mine was from not getting the chance to eat much during the day.
We finally get a bed and the Dr comes in to see her. They told us they wanted to do a culture for strep throat and needed a urine sample (if she didn't pee in a cup they wanted to put in a catheter). I got her to pee in the cup which she fought me on, its just not what she has been trained to do lol, got her back to her bed. Then they had to hook her up to an IV. That has been the hardest thing I have had to watch somebody do to my baby ever. I felt so helpless to take away her pain. I knew it would help her but as a parent its not what you want to watch your baby go through. It turns out she did not have strep but she did have the start of an ear infection, the start of a UTI and the flu. They gave her some meds and sent us on our merry way. By the time we got home it was like night and day, she was jumping around and being crazy (at 12:30am) but she was feeling better. I got her in to bed and she finally fell asleep about 1:15 am then it was mommy's turn. It was such a long day.
