Peeking out the window at the T.V.
Such a SILLY girl
Daddy didn't want Ruby in the bedroom all by herself so he moved her tent castle to the living room where Ruby promptly got in with her blanket, pillow, juice and ALL her stuffed animals and was watching her t.v. shows. She is such a silly girl she was in there like that for 4 hours, and the only reason she got out was her papa came over to see her and she was playing with her uncle.

Making Banana Bread
Ruby mashing the bananas (complete with grunting noises LOL)
Putting the beaters on the mixer
Adding the shorting
Now the sugar
Not a fan of waiting for the shorting and sugar to cream together
But she loved when she could make it go faster (she is so her daddy's girl everything has to be fast!)
Adding the flour
Turning the mixer back on...
And this is what you get for letting a 3 year old control the mixer speed. I told her to put it on the number 3 well she did the number 13 lol flour went everywhere. We both got a good laugh out of it though, and she had more to clean up which by the way is her favorite part.
Washing the mixer bowl
Today I had the best helper in the entire world, Ruby and I cleaned up the house after she came home from her grandparents house. Then we put dinner in the crock pot. She helped me cut the onions, squeeze some BBQ sauce in to the crock pot. Then SHE made her OWN peanut butter and jelly sandwich. After she had her sandwich and a yogurt cup it was time to make some banana bread. Every time I cook or bake she is right there with me helping me. I love that she shares my love of cooking and baking. We had some good laughs and got flour EVERYWHERE but it was so much fun and I will never get these times back. My baby is growing up way too fast for my liking.
After making banana bread we had to run to Walmart to pick up my medicine and paper toilet (as she calls it) then we had to put some gas in the truck. Once again I had a helper in my baby. She helped me put the card in, select which gas to get and pump the gas. The whole time all I hear is "mommy I can do it by myself" ummmm not yet little girl. On the way home we decided to pick up some Starbucks to reward ourselves for a job well done. Then we came home and she ran to the couch and is relaxing from her hard day of work. Just another day in our lives.

Drinking mommy's chocolate milkshake. Its bad enough she stole the cherry and then dropped it but she drank half of my shake lol
Every Friday night about a half mile from our house is the Main Street car show. Elvis and I have been going since we started dating in 1999, and Ruby asks to go every week that daddy is off early or doesn't work. And she actually goes to look at the cars. If we stop to talk to people she will hurry us along and say we have to look at the cars. Normally we get a bite to eat at the little diner that is there but tonight mommy had carnitas in the crock pot so no dining out for us tonight.
All this month is Elvis month so starting at 6:30pm they have a Elvis impersonator get up on the makeshift stage and sing. They also have it in August to. Its a great place to go get some good food, look at some really cool cars and hang out.

Impromptu party
Uncle Darwin watching Ruby dance her butt off
Rob and Elvis hanging out
Hanging out around the BBQ
Ruby dancing to the music
So after we came home from the car show Elvis decided to have a BBQ. His buddy Rob came over and off they went to pick up some meat, chips and of course the beer. Those boys came home with 25 pounds of carne asada and marinated chicken. Once the meet was on the grill people started coming over. All of Elvis' family came over and a couple other friends. It was an impromptu birthday party for Elvis' brother Irving who turned 24 on the 4th.
My Piccasso
Here are some pictures of Ruby doing what she currently loves to do. After my dr's appointment we came home and first thing she asked was if she could paint. So I get out her paints (have no fear they are washable) and away she went.

Christmas
Ok so I'm just now posting some pictures from Christmas. We all had an awesome Christmas full of good food, and some great company. Its always nice to get a present or two but to me the whole point of Christmas is to be with the ones you love the most (and who are able to be there) and just enjoy each other. For me its more for the kids. With that being said Ruby had a great Christmas all her presents from daddy and mommy were art stuff. She is really in to coloring, painting and "drawing" so that's what she got. So now everyday she asks "mommy can I paint?" I don't have enough room on the fridge to properly display all her art work lol.
She also got a castle tent that she only lets daddy get in with her LOL it was totally awesome getting pictures of Ruby and daddy in her pink and purple tent. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas full of love and laughter.

Our Tree
Our naked tree
With just the clear lights
Clear and colored lights
All done with lights and ornaments
On Monday Dec 5 Elvis came home for lunch and told Ruby to get her shoes on and lets go get our Christmas tree. She picked it out herself. No other tree would do for her but the one she picked. We got it home and let it open up a little bit then mommy and Ruby started to put the lights on. It took mommy a tad bit longer this year because she had to keep stopping to take a break, her tummy is bigger then it ever has been on Christmas hehehe. I think our finished product is awesome. Ruby loves the lights on, if they are off when she gets up she gets sad and says "what happened to the lights?"
