In Labor

Waiting to get hooked up to the I.V.
 Still waiting
After my friend the epidural came to visit me
Feeling the contractions through the epidural

 Yes I'm crying
We went in to the hospital at 8am to be induced by the time I was hooked up to the I.V. and had the pitocen started it was 11am. It was maybe an hour and a half before I started feeling some contractions. I never felt them with Ruby so I had no clue what to expect. They didn't get so bad that I couldn't handle them until 10pm. By that time I was still at 1 cm dilated and very soft after 11 hours. After I got the epi I jumped from a 1 to a 3-4 in a couple of hours. By 7am I was at a 7.5, I was dozing off and on but the pain in my backside and down low was starting to get to be too unbearable even through the epi. The nurse checked me at 9:15 and I was at a 9.5 with just a small amount of cervix left. I wanted to die. In my head I kept saying just cut me open and take this baby out. By 9:45 they had me in the delivery room, at 10:15 they called the Dr in and told her to hurry. Royce was born at 10:27am in 3 pushes. He gave us the scare of our lives, as his cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times and tight. When they put him on my stomach he was purple and not breathing. All I kept saying was please don't take him, please let him be ok. Elvis was trying to reassure me, but you could see it in his eyes that he was scared out of his mind. It was almost a full 2 minutes until he was breathing. Once he was breathing he was as perfect as can be.
